But my friend, medium IS the message! So said the great Mcluhan. Take it from me… And keep in mind that a minimalistic design can also have appeal. However, not this one! I know you’re not a white sheet of anything so why not try adding a personal touch in the style.css? Perhaps a different font and a some minimal graphic changes. Much like the sites you mention. Think about it and it will come to you.

A “table napkin”…

Well, I tend to focus on content and usually leave the visual candy for later. In some circumstances, this is usually confused with a defect, as many can’t clearly distinguish both (style from content).

Also, another reason which is stopping me from applying a decent looking WordPress theme is the fact that I’d love to make a few experiments with WP regarding a SVG-in-HTML hybrid theme (for example, I’d consider codedread.com or burningbird.net as good examples for inspiration at the moment).

Finally! Let’s hope you really build on this design! For now it just looks like a table napkin or an allusion to cocaine (all white?). I’ll be “trolling” around here and stir things up… such as posting the occasional death threats, rantings and such. Now, for real… I’m glad you decided to start a blog. I see this as an extra way to keep in touch and hear about a valued and interesting old friend more often.
